Italy suggestion: a Maldini in Azzurro starting role at San Siro
A great suggestion, in a non-random stage.
Daniel Maldini starting, in an Italy jersey, on the San Siro pitch. A full-blown suggestion that could materialize on Sunday night at the match the Azzurri will play against France's all-time rivals in the Nations League. And in which Luciano Spalletti could propose from the first minute the heir to one of the dynasties that helped write the history of the facility dedicated to Giuseppe Meazza.
The Monza striker could in fact get a chance from the first minute, should he win the ballot with Giacomo Raspadori. The latter is, in fact, the other major candidate to play behind the only striker Spalletti will send out in the Italy jersey. Again, there's a choice to be made, with Mateo Retegui likely to tick off Moise Kean.
Fewer doubts in the other areas of the field. Italy should line up with the 3-5-1-1 that has become a trademark of the Spalletti management. With Donnarumma between the posts and the trio of defenders composed of Di Lorenzo, Buongiorno and Bastoni, there is also a move toward confirming the two outfielders Dimarco and Cambiaso. A few more doubts in the middle: with Tonali and Frattesi there could be Locatelli and not Rovella.
France will also send on the field some players who are at home in San Siro: they are center forward Marcus Thuram, who during the year plays with the Inter jersey, and the flag of AC Milan Theo Hernandez (who forò è è in ballot with Digne). Absent Camavinga due to disqualification, Didier Deschamps will also rely on other familiar Serie A faces in the midfield such as Guendouzi and Rabiot.
