Jannik Sinner, words of a leader

Jannik Sinner gave Italy the decisive point to beat Australia and enable the Azzurri to qualify, for the second year in a row, for the Davis Cup final, but he prefers to share the credit with his teammates, particularly Matteo Berrettini who had won the first point of the day.

"There's never anything taken for granted in tournaments like this,‖ the world No. 1 told reporters present in Malaga.

Matteo gave a huge hand by winning his singles match, he gave confidence to the whole team. Even my match was not è easy, but I am happy to play this kind of match. It's nice to be back in the Davis final".

Mention also for the other Azzurri, Lorenzo Musetti, Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli, who did not take the court in the semifinals: "It is not just me or Berrettini,” said Sinner. “The whole team and the whole staff are giving 100 percent. Musetti’s loss to Cerundolo? Bad days happen to everyone. That’s why we have to be careful on Sunday".

Leading words, then, for the South Tyrolean, who è then moved on to comment on the potential of the Netherlands: "Their three singles players are very strong, plus they can field an absolute top doubles team. We will see how it will go, but already; having reached the second consecutive final è a great achievement for Italy".
