Davis Cup, Jannik Sinner doesn’t hold back joy: “We all won together.”

The words after yet another feat are all about great enthusiasm.

Davis Cup to Italy for the second year in a row, with Jannik Sinner clinching the decisive point for the Azzurri thanks to a two-set victory over Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands (7-6, 7-2). And the South Tyrolean, during the award ceremony in Malaga, unabashedly expressed all his pride for yet another gem of his magical 2024. This time, però with the colors of the national team.

"For all of us winning this trophy means so much,” Sinner told 'Rai Sport' -I came here because I wanted to participate in the Davis Cup and defend the title for Italy. We all succeeded together, the team gave in its totality more than 100 percent. And winning was anything but a foregone conclusion".

For Italy è it was the third Davis Cup triumph ever. But, compared to the first one dating back to 1976, this time the Azzurri hit a resounding double in 2023 and 2024. "We are delighted to find ourselves in this position again. Finishing the year with such joy è a priceless feeling".

For Sinner è it is also time to take stock after an almost perfect year: "This 2024 è was certainly very good. However, it must be said that I could have done even better in some moments of the season, forè the important results were different and the emotions always priceless. The difficulties were not lacking, that is another reason why I am overjoyed. All the more so because, I repeat, these results were neitheré simple noré taken for granted".
