Clostebol-Jannik Sinner: Filippo Volandri no longer holds back
Clostebol-Jannik Sinner: Filippo Volandri no longer holds back;
Filippo Volandri, captain of two-time Davis Cup-winning Italy, spoke in an interview with QS about the possibility of Jannik Sinner being disqualified over the Clostebol case. The world number one tennis player is in danger of being suspended for a year after being found positive in a test in March: the Court of Arbitration for Sport will decide early next year, probably after the Australian Open.
"I don’t even want to think about a’possible disqualification of Sinner, given his honesty and the irrefutable evidence he has provided. But if there’è a person with broad shoulders è it is Jannik".
"A disqualification would be the biggest injustice in history,” reiterated Volandri, who then praised the blue group. This è a group of friends, they are ready to be there when another needs. I want the national tennis team to remain at the top for a long time: this does not mean winning everything every year, but always staying among the top".
The Azzurri captain is spoiled for choice: "It è cost me to leave Arnaldi and Cobolli at home or to tell Musetti he would not play against Australia. There è he was hurt, in the days before he had played amazing tennis".
