The Artificial Track Luge World Cup starts again from the Lillehammer bowl, the first event of the season scheduled for the weekend. The big news of 2024/25 will be the inclusion of mixed singles and mixed doubles, which will replace the sprint races, introduced by the FIL in 2015/16 and shelved after 9 seasons.

Dominik Fischnaller, winner of the crystal ball in 2023 and seventh in the overall ranking last season, spoke this way to the official FISI channels ahead of the first race of the season: "We trained well in the summer and in the fall we had the chance to shoot several times between Lillehammer, Altenberg, Sigulda. Now we are finally back in Norway".

"We had good runs this week,” added the South Tyrolean, “there are still small mistakes to be fixed but there’s one last training run to refine the details, in conjunction with the opponents’ runs, where we’ll have more information. The’goal’is to start with a positive result, so’the season becomes easier’

.

"This year the Worlds are in Whistler, let’s see how we get there. The new formats are interesting, to tell you the truth; the sprints had given me some satisfaction over the years. Però when there are novelties; they are always welcome, if they serve to increase the show. We have been testing on the track with the women, we are confident that we will defend ourselves well also in this format" concluded Fischnaller.
