Novak Djokovic promises battle and warns Jannik Sinner

During an interview with the microphones of "Sportweek" Novak Djokovic, among other topics, did not hide his ambitions ahead of the new tennis season. In addition, the Serbian tennis player also wanted to send a warning to current world number one Jannik Sinner, who will be the absolute protagonist in 2024.

"In 2024 I did not play much and, Olympic gold and Wimbledon final aside, this was perhaps the least fruitful season in the last ten years, with many ups and downs, issues to be resolved even on a private level and a few too many physical problems. I feel però that I can still play at a high level and compete with Sinner, Alcaraz and Zverev to win Slams and other tournaments" began the Serbian tennis player.

"Physically and mentally I am ready to play my tennis again, I have the feeling that I can challenge these guys and my experience canò come in handy. Next year I will play more tournaments, giving priority to the Slams. I will giveò my best to win, of course if my physique will allow me to do so. I feel good, I still have time to rest and analyze what I can improve to make a better season than the previous one" continued the former world number one.

"I have been following Sinner since he was 14 or 15 years old, and already you could see then that he was going to have a great career, because he already had the right mindset and focus. I am not surprised to see him today at this level, having followed him closely all this time. Working with Darren Cahill, someone who has already followed so many number ones, can only be a great help to him. I like Jannik becauseé è a guy who wants to continuously improve" added the Belgrade native.

"It is one thing è to win the first two Slams and become world number one, it is another è to stay at this level for so many years. To do that, you first need to surround yourself with a competent team that you can trust, You have to have the right balance between your professional and personal life. All people are different, but it seems to me that Sinner has figured out what he needs. For him, the hard part comes now, as heè will have to be able to find the right formula to best invest in his body, to avoid injuries, stay healthy, motivated and passionate about tennis" concluded Novak Djokovic.
