F1, what Ferrari needs to postpone everything to Abu Dhabi
The Rossa has not won the Constructors’ World Championship title since 2008
Now a real miracle is needed. Thanks to the excellent Sprint, McLaren has increased its lead in the Constructors World Championship standings to +30 points over Ferrari. Counting in hand, the British team could close the file already in today’s race in Qatar.
If McLaren manages to win at least another 14 points more than the Cavallino, it will be mathematically certain of the title. Should it place its two single-seaters first and second in the Qatar GP, victory would be certain.
Clearly, Ferrari, which has not won the constructors’ title since 2008, dreams of extending the duel until the last round of the season, scheduled for Abu Dhabi. To succeed, è it will call for a strong performance, from both single-seaters, in the race. Not easy, as both McLarens of Norris and Piastri are ahead on the grid.
It should also be remembered that should McLaren and Ferrari end the season with the same points (and the same number of wins, currently five on each side), the victory would go to the team principal Stella’s team that has collected more second places (10-3 at the moment). In short, the Cavallino must pull off the classic feat to prevent McLaren from partying already in Qatar.
