Max Verstappen won the 2024 Qatar GP, the penultimate race of the Formula 1 season, marking his 63ª career victory. Already world champion, the Dutchman preceded Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri. The race reopened the race for the Constructors’ Championship, with Ferrari narrowing the gap to McLaren to just 21 points. Decisive was the penalty imposed on Lando Norris for failing to obey the yellow flags, relegating him to 10th place. The Constructors’ title will be decided in the’last race in Abu Dhabi.
The race è began with tension in the early laps. Verstappen, penalized on the grid, è immediately took the lead, while Leclerc shone with a spectacular overtaking move. The last 18 laps, after the Safety Car came back, saw close battles: Norris tried to undermine Verstappen, unsuccessfully, while Piastri and Leclerc competed for the podium. Norris’ penalty changed the fate of the race, allowing Ferrari to make up ground in the standings. In Abu Dhabi the title will be decided.
