Roma, Claudio Ranieri sees the glass half full
Claudio Ranieri finds the silver lining
.
Although he finds himself in a very delicate sporting situation with his Roma team, which against Atalanta suffered its fourth consecutive league defeat and in the standings has just two points more than the relegation zone, Claudio Ranieri strives to see the glass half full, working to solve the problems that are gripping the Giallorossi's environment.
"As long as we had strength to do so, we responded blow by blow to a very strong team,” the Roma coach told the microphones of 'Sky Sport'. We had a couple of important chances to equalize, it was a pity we did not take advantage of them. However, I congratulated the team for the way they fought throughout the ninety minutes".
For Ranieri, Roma’s problem isn’t è neither technical nor tactical: " We have to find the crux of the matter, if the team follows me we will succeed,” he explained. “We have to react and always fight, until the end. Tonight we did that but Atalanta made better use of their chances. They deserve great compliments, but Roma also deserves them".
The Giallorossi last won on Oct. 31, when the team then coached by Ivan Juric won 1-0 over Torino, with a decisive goal by Dybala. Since then, however, came defeats against Hellas Verona, Bologna (costing Juric his bench), Napoli and now Atalanta, while in the Europa League the Giallorossi have drawn against Union Saint-Gilloise and Tottenham. The next match è scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, at home against Lecce galvanized by the late draw against Juventus.
