The Vuelta 2025 will startà from Piedmont

The Vuelta a España 2025 will start from Piedmont. For the first time in history, the 80th edition of the Spanish stage race, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary, will kick off in our country, which will host the first three stages in their entirety, starting August 23.

The inaugural stage will start from the Palace of Venaria Reale and head to Novara on a 183-kilometer route with a climb over the Bienca-Tomalino Pass. The second stage will begin in Alba and, 157 kilometers later, will end in Limone Piemonte, marking the first summit finish of the race. The third stage on Italian soil will cover 139 kilometers between San Maurizio Canavese and Ceres, including a climb up the Passo d'Issiglio. The fourth stage will start from Susa.

"After the Grand Departure of the Giro d’Italia from Turin and the stages of the Tour de France in Piedmont, now the third major Giro, the Spanish one, has also chosen our country,” stressed Roberto Pella, president of the Professional Cycling League.” I therefore congratulate the President of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, for having been able to intercept this great international event".

“While waiting for the route of the Giro d’Italia to be unveiled, I want to remind you of our commitment to enhance historical races. We are working to make all Italian professional competitions more attractive, with parameters that are increasingly in line with the standards set by the’UCI. This is technical work, aimed not only at making the courses spectacular and safe, but also at supporting television production, enabling it to reach the homes of Italians and around the world".

"I also thank RCS, which also in 2025 will give life to a Giro capable of enhancing, like no other event, the Italian territory, its history, art and landscapes. By promoting cycling with a cast of top champions at the start, it will bring’on the roads millions of citizens to cheer the riders, demonstrating once again the’organizational excellence of our country" concluded Pella.
