Milan Premier Padel P1, defending champions renew their ambitions
Sprint start for Delphi Brea and Bea Gonzalez
After conquering the women’s tournament last year, Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez also started the 2024 edition of the Milan Premier Padel P1 in the best possible way, defeating Ana Catarina Nogueira and Laia Rodriguez 6-2, 6-0, in just fifty-nine minutes of play, thus making it clear that they are once again the pair to beat.
"To come back here è special – declared in unison the two athletes, who in the round of 16 will find lucky losers Lara Arruabarrena and Julia Polo -. And of course we will try to win again". The Brea Gonzalez pair è reformed at an important time of the season, with the former overcoming a series of injuries: the goal è to confirm in Milan before the Barcelona Finals.
The competition in the Lombard capital è però fierce: in fact, Ale Salazar and Jessica Castelló (6-1, 7-6 to Velasco/Canovas) made it through the first round, and like them Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno (6-3, 6-3 to Talavan/Bidahorria), Aranzazu Osoro and Veronica Virseda (7-5, 6-1 to Ruiz Soto/Goenaga).
Also ahead were Ale Alonso and Andrea Ustero, who defeated Martinez/Collombon 6-1, 6-0: Ulstero è already qualified for the Finals, Alonso instead seeks a pass in a long-distance battle involving, in addition to Alonso, just 'Vikinga' Osoro and Tamara Icardo.
