Jannik Sinner: Nikolay Davydenko cuts short Clostebol case

Former Russian tennis player Nikolay Davydenko in an interview with Championat commented in no uncertain terms on the cases of Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek, the two top tennis players both found positive for minimal amounts at some checks. "It's such an absurdityà… Tennis è tennis, and you will never become the best in the world with doping".

"It's a crazy thing… when I played, everything was easier. I myself did not worry much, everywhere I drank and ate without even thinking about possible consequences. But today the situation è worsened, you always have to go to a sports doctor in any situation".

Davydenko praised Sinner for his play on the court: "He is playing very well, è a great one. I like his tactics on the court. I had seen him in 2019, è he has grown a lot".

Davydenko è retired in 2014 after winning 21 titles on the ATP circuit. He achieved his best ranking in 2006, reaching third place in the ATP rankings.
