Uncertain recovery time for Mikaela Shiffrin

After her fall on Saturday during the second run of the fermminile World Cup giant slalom in Killington, Mikaela Shiffrin è returned home from the hospital and in a message on social media provided an update on her condition.

"È a serious injury and è difficult to say when she will be back on the snow or competing. He certainly won&#39t be there in Beaver Creek and that&#39s a big bummer. D'on the other hand però I was lucky and I wonò t miss; to give support to my teammates" said the U.S. champion.

Mikaela Shiffrin turned 29 last March 13. She has won five overall and 11 specialty World Cups (eight slalom, two giant slalom and one super-G), she also has 7 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze world championships and 2 gold and 1 silver Olympic medals on her trophy cabinet.

This year she had won the first two slaloms of the season, in Levi and Gurgl, and in the giant slalom in Killington when she è fell she was just a few doors away from her 100th victory in a World Cup race, a quota never reached by anyone in alpine skiing.
