Vero Volleyball in Tuscany, double objective for Paola Egonu and teammates
Sunday’s challenge between Scandicci and Vero Volleyball Milano
It will be played on Sunday, December 8, starting at 6 p.m., the challenge between Scandicci and Vero Volley Milano, both paired in second place with 27 points (although the Tuscans have one game less). It is an important challenge for both teams, looking for the highest possible position to close the first round and get the second seed in the Italian Cup.
Winning on Sunday in Florence, in addition to obtaining a better seed in the Cup, would also allow them to keep pace, thoughé at a relative distance, from Conegliano: an important double objective, as explained by the Consortium team’s coach, Stefano Lavarini. "We will face a team of the highest level,” he said, “full of talent and with many tactical solutions at our disposal".
"Our goal will be clear: to defend second place and consolidate our position in the standings. The one against Scandicci represents the’last day of the first round, a crucial appointment to define the grid of the Italian Cup quarterfinals" added the coach of Vero Volleyball.
Paola Egonu, Alessia Orro, Anna Danesi and their teammates won two consecutive league victories, against Bergamo and Vallefoglia, which restored confidence after the losses against Conegliano in the league and Vakifbank Istanbul in Champions. Scandicci, on the other hand, comes from eight consecutive successes between Italy and Europe, the last one a few days ago against Pinerolo on the road.
