Dolomiti Energia Trentino hunting for redemption in EuroCup

After the victory with Givova Scafati (110-119), the tenth consecutive in the league, Dolomiti Energia Trentino shifts its attention to’EuroCup, in which on Tuesday at 7 p.m. the bianconeri face Trefl Sopot, with the goal of getting precious points to get closer to the playoff zone, currently four points away. In Europe, Trento has yet to find success on the road, but has shown it can win on difficult courts in Italy, such as those of Pistoia, Treviso and Reggio Emilia.

Trefl Sopot has already made significant changes to its roster since the beginning of the season, adding two key pawns to coach Zan Tabak’s chessboard: Nick Johnson and Nahiem Alleyne. The first leg match was the only previous one where the Bianconeri won 84-78 in an intense challenge, valid for the second day of the EuroCup.

Fabio Bongi, assistant coach of Dolomiti Energia Trentino spoke this way on the eve of the game: "They are a very tricky team, and their record does not do justice to the quality of the roster and their aggressiveness. They have a group of Polish players who, with technique and aggressiveness, complete a roster made even more dangerous by the great talent of the Americans".

"Schenk è the leader of the team, embodying the fighting spirit of the group: he can change the’inertia of the game from an emotional point of view. Groselle è a key element under the basket, thanks to his physicality è and experience. Aron Best, on the other hand, è the spearhead of the Trefl, and in the’first round he had created a lot of difficulties for us. We have to be good at mentally resetting the good win in Scafati and immediately drop into this match, which will be extremely challenging" concluded Bongi.

"A very difficult game awaits us for sure, playing away è always complicated – added Andrea Pecchia -. Sopot è a team that gave us a hard time in the first leg and that has changed many players.  We will have to be good to be ready, we come from a good win in Scafati, we are charged up and we want to take some satisfaction also in Europe to continue dreaming of playoffs".
