Parallel snowboarding, first World Cup triumph for Jasmin Coratti

Jasmin Coratti climbs for the first time in her career on the highest step of the podium in World Cup and does so in her home parallel giant in Carezza, where she manages to find the best feeling with the Pra di Tori and beat Poland’s Aleksandra Krol-Walas in the final by only 14 hundredths. Also on the podium was Japan’s Tsubaki Miki, who beat Switzerland’s Julie Zogg nerlla small final.

Coratti, a 23-year-old from Silando, Vinschgau, and a Gold Flamingo team carrier, had been on the Cup podium twice, without ever achieving success: she was second in the PGS in Scuol last season and finished third in the PSl in Bad Gastein, three days after the Scuol podium. Now, she crowns her dream of winning. She had stopped at the quarterfinals Elisa Caffont, due to a fall in the head-to-head with Zogg.

Fourth place, however, for Jasmin’s brother Edwin, beaten in the small final by the experienced Benjamin Karl, but still the best of the Italians. Out in the quarters were Maurizio Bormolini, beaten by Bulgarian Radoslav Yankov, and Daniele Bagozza, beaten by Austrian Benjamin Karl. Out in the round of 16 were Aaron March, Mirko Felicetti and Roland Fischnaller. A truly impressive team effort, that of alpine snowboarding Italy, which è only missed the men’s podium.
