È the year of the three Olympic medals in Paris, the year-record 24 medals at the European Championships in Rome, the four podiums at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, the first place in the medal table at the European U18 Championships. A trail of successes, emotions and indelible memories for Italian athletics. Now forò è the time to choose. Who è the’man of the’year? Who è the woman of 2024? Which è the most representative team, which are the best young people, which masters to be honored? It is also up to you to decide. At the end of the season, the “Athlete of the’year” competition returns, with which the Italian Athletics Federation crowns the athletes-symbols, whose feats will remain etched in Italian history.
From Wednesday, Dec. 18, until Friday, Dec. 27 (12 noon) it will be possible to express your preferences on the Instagram and Facebook pages of the Italian Athletics Federation by clicking ‘like’ on the photo of the favorite candidates in each of the seven categories: Man of the’year, Woman of the’year, Team of the’year, Rising Star Men, Rising Star Women, Master of the’year Men, Master of the’year Women. The vote on social will weigh 1/3 on the final verdict: the remaining 2/3 will be the expression of the vote of a panel of experts formed by the members of the Federal Council, the Technical Management and a selection of the leading Italian athletics journalists.
The shortlist of nominees è was defined on the basis of clearly highlighted criteria: in the case of Man and Woman of the Year, for example, all individual medal winners and winners at the Olympics, World Indoor Championships or European Championships, as well as the finalists of the Games, understood as placements among the top eight.
