Genoa has a new owner: Dan Sucu, Romanian businessman and president of Rapid Bucharest. The announcement was made by the Rossoblu club itself: "Genoa Cricket and Football Club announces that, following the resolution of a capital increase of 45,356,262 euros, of which 5,356,262 euros were free of charge and another 40,000,000 euros were paid last December 14, today the Board of Directors met and approved the offer submitted by Romanian entrepreneur Dan Șucu. The Romanian entrepreneur, through his own investment vehicle, has fully subscribed to the capital increase, obtaining in exchange a shareholding in the capital stock in the vicinity of 77 percent of Genoa CFC, leaving the previous shareholders".

"Sucu è a prominent figure on the international economic scene and president of Confederația Patronală Concordia, the’equivalent of Confindustria in Romania. The proposal, structured and highly strategic, will allow’the capital increase to be fully subscribed, providing the club with the necessary resources to strengthen its sporting ambitions".

"Born in Bucharest on April 25, 1963, Sucu è known primarily as the founder of Mobexpert, the largest furniture brand in Romania with more than 2,200 employees. In addition to leadership in the furniture sector, Sucu è a key investor in real estate and from 2022 also in the media sector, with a key role in the business newspaper Ziarul Financiar".
