Very bad news for Italian skiing. Beatrice Sola, in fact, injured during a training with the women’s slalom team in Val di Fassa, has suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligament and meniscus of her right knee. Announcing it è was Sola herself through her own social channels.
"Time for a new meniscus and cruciate – it reads there! In a curve you see a season full of goals and dreams pass you by that will have to wait a little longer’. A new path awaits me: I start it with the same smile, determination and passion with which I left yesterday morning from the’hotel in the picture in the elevator".

Sola’s social message was followed by FISI’s official statement: "Season ended for Beatrice Sola, who was busy training with the women’s slalom team in Val di Fassa. The 21-year-old from Trentino, who had placed 23rd in the Gurgl slalom at the beginning of the season, winning the first career points on the major circuit, è underwent clinical examinations by FISI Medical Commission President Andrea Panzeri at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan, which confirmed the rupture of the cruciate ligament and meniscus of her right knee. She will undergo surgery in the coming days, after which the recovery path" will be determined.
