Alexander Zverev crowns Jannik Sinner and exalts Carlos Alcaraz
During an interview with the microphones of "Tennis Magazine", Alexander Zverev, among other topics, dwelt on his rivalry with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz in the recently concluded season. In his analysis, in addition, the German tennis player had some very sweet words for the South Tyrolean and the Spaniard.
"I have known Jannik since he was 16-17 years old. At that time he was training with Riccardo Piatti near Monte Carlo. Whenever it rained, people would go there because there'd be a hall, so I got to know him already as a kid. In terms of tennis, he absolutely deserves to be number one in the world. He has won two Grand Slam titles, three Masters 1000s and ATP finals. He has won more trophies than anyone, so he deserves to be considered the best player in the world" began the German tennis player.
"Carlos è really a person I get along with. We also had special moments together, playing important matches against each other and spending some more time together off the court. It è created a good relationship between us. Whenever we faced each other, there's always been entertainment, è very fun to share the field with him" added the Hamburg native.
"I think I played my best tennis at Wimbledon this year, for the first time in my career. I have never played so well on grass as I did before I got injured. It was very, very bitter for me because for the first time in my life I felt I had opportunities to win on that surface as well" concluded Alexander Zverev.
