Euroleague, Virtus Bologna beats Barcelona in sprint

Great victory for Virtus Bologna, which beat Barcelona 86-81 at the Segafredo Arena in the game of the 17th day of the Euroleague. The V Nere almost always led in the first quarter, which ended on +8, 23-15.

In the second quarter there’è the hosts’ maximum lead, +9 (26-17) but the Spaniards came back down and the first half ended 35-34. In the third quarter Virtus re-along on +7 but it comes to the last ten minutes on 65-65.

It continued point-to-point, with the guests leading with 3’37” to go. For Dusko Ivanovic’s team there were 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists from Cordinier, for the Catalans there were 21 points from Jabari Parker and 17 from former Kevin Punter. Virtus è still in the bottom of the standings but at least it leaves in the lonely last place Alba Berlin.
