Marc Marquez revealed an interesting backstory related to the 2018 rider market in Dazn Spain’s documentary Life in Red.
The eight-time world champion in particular talked about Jorge Lorenzo and his decision to leave Ducati to accept the Honda HRC challenge for 2019.
"Just when Lorenzo was in Ducati, I said, ‘They are there now’ the best strategy è to take Lorenzo and put him in Honda. If you don’t do that, you will be beaten, becauseé Lorenzo è Lorenzo“, he told.
"There were rumors that Petrucci could replace me, becauseé we were getting the same results and he was getting 10 or 11 times less than me. When I realized that I was between the’anvil and the hammer, I called Alberto Puig" directly.
