Mauritius smiles at John Parry
John Parry capped off a brilliant season by capturing his second title on the DP World Tour, a full 14 years after his first success. With an incredible comeback in the last nine holes, the Englishman triumphed at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, finishing the tournament with a total score of -14 and a two-shot lead over his pursuers.
Starting with a five-shot gap from the leader, Parry put in an outstanding performance, making an eagle, seven birdies and only one bogey, to finish the final round with a brilliant 64. Tension è remained high to the end as the co-leader of the third round, Dylan Naidoo, faced the final holes. When the South African failed è to hit the eagle needed to force a playoff, Parry could finally celebrate his return to victory on the DP World Tour.
Tied for second with a total of -12 were South Africans Dylan Naidoo and Christo Lamprecht, followed by compatriot Jovan Rebula, who finished at -11. The top 5 è was rounded out by four players at -10: Christiaan Burke, Freddy Schott, Andreas Halvorsen and Richard Sterne.
Among the Italians, the best result è was that of Andrea Pavan, who finished in 19th place with a total of -6.
