Carlos Alcaraz: Jannik Sinner’s dominance didn’t put a smile on Juan Carlos Ferrero’s face
Juan Carlos Ferrero takes stock of 2024 by Carlos Alcaraz
During an interview given to the microphones of the Spanish daily "Punto de Break", Juan Carlos Ferrero, among other topics discussed, wanted to take stock of the 2024 played by his Carlos Alcaraz assistant. In his analysis, the Spanish coach could not fail to also mention Jannik Sinner, who è was the authentic ruler of the tennis season that just ended.
"If you win a Grand Slam title è always a very good year. If you win two, it becomes impressive. The season è was enhanced by the successes of Indian Wells and Beijing, but of course in there; there's another animal like Sinner who won everything that could be won. Some may say that compared to the year experienced by Jannik, Carlos's 2024 has not been good, but I don't think so.
The Spanish coach began.
"I say there is always room for improvement. Alcaraz è aware of his weaknesses, I see him becoming more mature every day. I like how he is approaching the start of the new season in Australia. I see him very focused on the things he wants to improve or the things that haven't gone so well this year. He knows that he has to grow mentally, so that he can limit the many ups and downs he has had during matches this season" added the Murciano coach.
"We would like to have moreù time to organize the breaks better, but we have to adapt. We are working to change something in the serve, so that it has some rhythm and can be more fluid, then we will work on small details like the forehand, on which we want it to be more killer. Our goal è to allow Carlos to become a 10 player in every respect" concluded Juan Carlos Ferrero.
