Novak Djokovic comes out of the closet on Jannik Sinner
Novak Djokovic also breaks his silence on the Jannik Sinner-Clostebol case. After months of controversy, triggered mainly by Nick Kyrgios but not only, the former world number one doesn't feel like throwing the cross on the Blue, but he wants to make some very important considerations on what è happened after the positive reaction of the South Tyrolean player to doping controls in Indian Wells.
"I have known Jannik since he was very young and he does not strike me as someone who would do such things, but I am really frustrated, like most other players, to see that we have been kept in the dark for five months since he received that news. Not è a good advertisementà for our sport", are Djokovic’s words to Eurosport.
Djokovic does not condemn Nick Kyrgios and his outings: "Nick è has been very outspoken on some issues, particularly on the doping case involving Jannik and has touched on some fair points when it comes to transparency and inconsistency with protocols and case-by-case comparisons".
"There have been many players in the past and even currently who have been suspended without even undergoing doping tests, but only for skipping them and not reporting their whereabouts, and other lower level players, on the other hand, are still waiting for over a year for their case to be resolved. The question è this, not whether Sinner took the banned substance intentionally or not".
