With his contract expiring next summer, 24-year-old Jonathan David is fueling market rumors as he plays out his fifth season in a Lille shirt. In an’interview granted to La Voix du Nord, which elected him “Lillois of the’year 2024”, the Canadian striker commented on the’two-year renewal offer proposed by the management.

"As President Olivier Létang has said several times, there are ongoing discussions. We are talking, but no decision has è been made at the moment. The door è never closed. È a 50-50" he clarified.

Speaking recently on L'Équipe, the Lille president definitely closed the door on an immediate departure. "There will be no disposal in January,” he assured, “There is no question of a player, who è is important to the team and is delivering excellent performances, leaving us in January ".

A statement that concerns, above all, Jonathan David, author of 17 goals this season, including 6 in the Champions League, including the preliminary rounds.
