Jose Mourinho reveals a past regret and a backstory on Roma
José Mourinho reveals a past regret and è crystal clear about returning to Serie A
During a lengthy interview given to the microphones of the "Corriere dello Sport", José Mourinho, among other topics, wanted to reveal some past regrets, including one regarding his experience on the Roma bench. In addition, the Special One è also expressed himself bluntly in meriro to a possible return to Serie A.
"Based on the matches, the regrets are many, becauseé when you lose you always think that you could have done differently. As for professional choices, however, I would say the no to Florentino Perez and the decision to leave Real Madrid to go back to Chelsea and what è happened after Budapest, not because of the mess Taylor made, but the fact that I didn’t leave right away. I should have left Roma at that time, I didn't and I made a mistake" began the Portuguese coach.
"A great communicator does not win all the most important titles in soccer. A coach's greatness lies in results, humanity, courage and honesty, and not in the philosophy of playing, self-centeredness and relating. A great coach is also seen by the fact that he can sleep well at night because he'knows that he has always been independent intellectually and vertically" continued the "Special One".
"Football è the realm of superficialityà and clichés and a'label is not denied to anyone. It's so for most of the great coaches who usually lead the best teams and have the best chance of making it to the finals. When talking about me they refer to things of fifteen, eight, twelve years ago" added the former Inter.
"After the exoneration I no longer watched Roma matches. I continued to follow Inter. If the opportunity presented itself to return to Serie A I look for that I would return to coach in Italy" commented José Mourinho.
