Sid was already considered one of the great promises of motorcycling in his country. It was no coincidence that in early October he had become champion of Holland in the Junior A category of minimoto racing.
Sid was also related to Collin Veijer, a rider who raced in Moto3 in 2024 and will switch to Moto2 in 2023 with the Ajo KTM team. Collin also expressed his feelings in a post on Instagram: "You fought with all your strength, but you could not win this hard and difficult battle. I am very proud to be your cousin and will never forget the fun times we had together, even though we were not together much. I will never forget you as a person. It motivates me even moreù to fight as hard as you did. I love you, Sid", he wrote.
