Carlos Alcaraz does not respond to Jannik Sinner

It is off to the worst start in 2025 for Carlos Alcaraz. In the exhibition match for the Australian Open Opening Week, in fact, the Murcian è was defeated in three sets by home favorite Alex de Minaur with a score of 7-5 4-6 10-5, in a little more than two hours of play, thus failing to replicate Jannik Sinner, who, in the first friendly match, won in two sets over Australian Alexei Popyrin with a score of 6-4 7-6.

"I love competition and I enjoy playing these kinds of matches against players like Alex against whom è it is always a battle. To come back to toil on the court and face a player like de Minaur è a great feeling, but at the same time I wanted to enjoy a few more days of rest before challenging him, but there'è no doubt that as a training session it was excellent" began the Murcian tennis player to the microphones of "Supertennis".

"I managed to keep a very good pace, getting used to playing long exchanges, it was what I needed to refine my condition and get familiar with the conditions here in Australia" added Carlos Alcaraz.

Before the official start of the Australian Open, the Spaniard will take the court for another exhibition match against Alexei Popyrin, while Jannik Sinner will face Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. Both matches are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 10, 2025.
