Maurizio Bormolini starts 2025 in the best way

There could not have been a better start for Maurizio Bormolini in this 2025: in fact, the Army athlete won the parallel snowboard giant slalom on the snows of Scuol, Switzerland. In the very final, the 30-year-old from Livigno beat Austria&#39s Dominik Burgstaller, also making up for a small inaccuracy.

"It’ was a great race, on a slope that has always been difficult for me,” Bormolini said on the sidelines of his victory. “It’ was not easy to get the better of Burgstaller, è he is young and there were complicated conditions. It’s a double satisfaction for me. I did my best, I made a few mistakes and I am really happy with this result; I want to dedicate it to my FanClub that è came to support me here too".

Great satisfaction also for the technical director of the National Team, Cesare Pisoni: "It’ was the first success for the men’s sector on this soì complicated slope – he explained -; Bormolini did a great job and won the yellow bib as leader of the ranking; very good also Messner with Fischnaller who è returned competitive".

"That’s already three podiums for Bormolini, it will be a very hard-fought World Cup; although the’primary goal will be the World Championships" concluded Pisoni. Bormolini è now tops the specialty ranking with 266 points, ahead of Bulgarian Yankov and Slovenian Mastnak, who have collected 221 and 219 respectively.
