The 2025 Italian women’s foil begins with two medals. In the individual competition of the World Cup stage in Hong Kong come the silver of Martina Sinigalia and the bronze of Martina Batini, great protagonists in the competition won by the U.S. Liu and in which at the foot of the podium were two other azzurre, Martina Favaretto (fifth) and Arianna Errigo (sixth).

The certainty of the medal è came for Martina Sinigalia thanks to the 14-13 with which she è imposed herself against Poland’s Walczyk-Klimaszyk, while Martina Batini won the Italian derby against Arianna Errigo 15-11.
In the semifinals, the Veneto class ’95 foilist continued her run with a 15-11 success over Japan’s Ueno, gaining access to the last act. Martina Batini, on the other hand, closed with the bronze medal beaten by the U.S. Liu with the result of 15-13 at the sunset of a very balanced match.
It was only in the final that Martina Sinigalia came to a halt, who, after regaining the initial disadvantage, succumbed only in the final bars to the American Liu by 15-12, thus winning a splendid silver medal, her best result in the Cup after third places last year in Cairo and in 2023 in Busan.
A lot of Italy also at the foot of the podium: stop only in the quarterfinals for Martina Favaretto, who finished in fifth (knockout against Japan’s Ueno), and for captain Arianna Errigo, sixth after being overcome in the derby by Martina Batini.
