Giro d'Italia Women 2025, route unveiled
At the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in Rome,è the Giro d'Italia Women 2025, which will take place from July 6-13, 2025, was unveiled. The journey of the women's Corsa Rosa resumes after&#nbsp;the exciting 2024 edition, characterized by the duel on the edge of seconds between Elisa Longo Borghini and Lotte Kopecky and the great results achieved in terms of TV audience and web numbers.
As in 2024, an individual time trial will kick off the competition in 2025. The 13.6 km on the streets of Bergamo will give an initial conformation to the overall classification. Athletes aiming for the final pink jersey will also have to pay attention to the second stage, the Clusone-Aprica, while the Vezza d'Oglio-Trento could represent the first chance for the fast wheels, despite the passage over the Passo del Tonale, Cima Alfonsina Strada of this edition with its 1883 meters.
The first half of the Giro d'Italia Women will end with the Castello Tesino-Pianezze (Valdobbiadene), first uphill finish of this edition. The final climb saw Fabiana Luperini's first success in the Corsa Rosa in 1995.
It will start again in Veneto for the totally flat fifth stage from Mirano to Monselice, the last respite before a decidedly tough final triptych. The Bellaria-Igea Marina-Terre Roveresche (Orciano di Pesaro) will be a decidedly undulating fraction with a classics finish and precedes the second uphill finish, that of Monte Nerone. The final climb, with average gradients above 8 percent, è a first for the Corsa Rosa.
Grand finale on Sunday, July 13, in the Forlì-Imola, a 2200-meter-high stage in which the 2020 World Cup circuit will be reproposed with the climbs of Mazzolano and Cima Gallisterna.
