Jurgen Klopp, his new adventure has begun
Klopp’s words
È Jurgen Klopp’s experience as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer has officially begun. The multi-titled German coach, one of the most iconic and recognizable figures in international soccer, made no secret of his excitement and enthusiasm at the prospect of working, for the first time in his career, at a reality as unique as Red Bull. A galaxy consisting of various clubs scattered around the world, in keeping with the multi-sport context and global vision of the brand, which, relying on Klopp’s leadership, aspires more than ever to create passion among fans, spectacle on the pitch and lasting sporting value.
“I want that when the public sees us play, it is immediately clear to everyone that we are Red Bull, even without reading the name on the jersey”, Klopp said in today’s crowded media session at Hangar-7 in Salzburg, in what è was his first media appearance since the beginning of January, when he took over the role. “What I want to do è take soccer to the next level, for our clubs, for our players, for the youth, but also for the benefit of the discipline itself. The growth of soccer è an important responsibility: achieving it, and at the same time succeeding with Red Bull in the long term, è a challenge that intrigues me greatly”.
Klopp started coaching in Germany, at Mainz, in 2001; he later linked his name particularly with Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. Prominent in his palmarés are victories in the Premier League, Bundesliga, Champions League, FA Cup, German Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. His new role at Red Bull è his first assignment following his emotional farewell to the Liverpool bench in May 2024. Relying on his experience, he will work to bring a strategic vision to soccer “made in Red Bull”.
“As a coach, for the past three decades I have had the responsibilities of the leader. Now forò I first want to listen, discuss, learn, understand what people have done so far, – added Klopp – because I can tell you that everyone in Red Bull has done a brilliant job, which allows me not to start from scratch. The real challenge will beà then putting it all together".
