Another 3-point contest for Numia Vero Volley Milan, which won on the court of Il Bisonte Firenze. In the fifth day back of Serie A1 Tigotà, the Consortium girls won 1-3 (20-25; 25-22; 17-25, 21-25) at the Palazzo Wanny. Orro and her teammates started strong, thanks to a very well managed first partial until the decisive stretch, which came in the middle of the fraction (20-25). Excellent reaction by Florence in the second partial: the Tuscans led for the entire set, which ended 25-22. Milan, però, è returned to the court with the right spirit, and dominated the third set (17-25), before closing the match at the end of a hard-fought fourth set (21-25). MVP of the challenge Nika Daalderop, scorer of 18 points, while top scorer of the match Paola Egonu with 19 ground balls. Excellent wall performance for the meneghine, with 11 total blocks, three of them by captain Orro. Now continues the busy period for Milan, between Championship and Champions League; Saturday, January 18 at 20:30 the Consortium women’s first team will be again at the Palalido in Milan to face Bartoccini-Mc Restauri Perugia, before the Champions League big match against Vakifbank Istanbul.
 
Against the Tuscan team, coach Lavarini will field Orro-Egonu on the diagonal, Sylla and Daalderop pair of setters, Danesi-Kurtagic in the center and Gelin as libero.
 
It's a balanced start of the match: 4-4 signed Malual-Egonu. Milan tries to give the first break, thanks to 2 points in a row by Kurtagic (attack and wall). Danesi enters the match, but Florence closes the gap: 9-9 thanks to Davyskiba’s mani-out. First lead for the hosts, thanks to Davyskiba's ace again. The two teams continue on the edge of an almost total balance: 14-14. Milan extends: Egonu projects hers on 14-17. Florence time-out. Numia doesn’t stop, which thanks to the service of Sylla (an ace) and Daalderop (wall on Malual) goes up 15-21. Il Bisonte tries a reaction, but è too late: Daalderop first, captain Orro’s wall then close the first partial: 20-25.
 
Florence starts well in the second set: 2-0 thanks to Cagnin's ace and Egonu's error. Milan però reacts promptly, and finds parity on 4-4. Butigan’s wall and Acciarri’s ace: 6-4 Florence. Lavarini time-out. Numia gets back to -1 thanks to Egonu’s mani-out, but Florence now plays very well and keeps the lead, with Acciarri on the shields. Milan stays in the slipstream, thanks to Egonu and newcomer Heyrman. Great wall by Orro: è parityà on 18-18. Florence time-out. On the comeback, the hosts lead again on +2, thanks to Malual. Danesi makes the big voice at the wall, but Florence è in confidence and closes the second partial with Butigan's ace: 25-22.
 
Third set starting with Daalderop’s winning pipe, well served by Orro. Florence leads 4-3, but Danesi, first with an attack, then with an ace gives Milan back the lead at 4-5. Another wall by Orro, followed by attacks by Sylla and Heyrman: 6-9. Florence time-out. Milan continues to lead: first Egonu, then Malual's error: 11-14. The host lineup extends: Daalderop on serve hurts, and Milan brings the lead to 6 points. In come Cazaute, Konstantinidou and Smrek. Florence tries a reaction with Nervini, but Numia at the wall hurts: Egonu on Davyskiba for 16-24. Acciarri’s error on serve. The third partial goes to Milan: 17-25.
 
Nervini's ace opens the fourth partial, but Sylla&#39s 3 consecutive points (2 attacks and 1 wall) allow Milan to lead 2-3. Florence però, led again by Malual, has a nice reaction and goes up 6-4. Egonu enters the set: two attacks in a row by the National team opposite make it 6-7. New reversal by the hosts, who hurt with Acciarri from the center: 12-10. Sylla first, Daalderop then: Milan ties it at 13-13. Ace by Egonu: 14-16, Firenze time-out. New parity on 17-17, with Acciarri's attack. Milano però finds the decisive break, with Heyrman serving: 17-22. Danesi from the center makes no mistake, Malual però does not give up and cancels a match point. Lavarini time-out. On the return, Nika Daalderop’s mani-out closes the match. Milan wins 21-25.
