Sepp Straka claimed victory at The American Express tournament. The Austrian triumphed on the La Quinta course in California with a total score of 263 strokes (65 64 64 70, -25), edging out by two lengths American Justin Thomas, who è placed second with 265 (-23). In third place, with 266 strokes (-22), were Australian Jason Day and American Justin Lower, while fifth place, with a score of 268 (-20), è was shared by Americans Patrick Cantlay and Charley Hoffman.
The tournament, played under the Pro-Am format, guaranteed Straka a prize of $1,584,000 from a total prize pool of $8,800,000. The 31-year-old from Vienna, who represented Team Europe at the Ryder Cup in Rome, earned his third career title on the PGA Tour, following his successes at the'Honda Classic in 2022 and the John Deere Classic in 2023. Thanks to this victory, Straka è climbed from 36th to 19th in the world rankings and è is now second in the FedEx Cup standings. Over the four days of competition, he put up a total of 27 birdies.
For Justin Thomas, however, this is yet another second-place finish in his career, his eighth on the PGA Tour. However, the US golfer seems to have regained his best form after two difficult years. With the result, which earned him a prize of $959,200, Thomas è entered the top ten players with the highest ever earnings on the circuit, reaching the tenth position with a total of $60,837,898, just behind Jason Day.
As for the Italians, Matteo Manassero, making his season debut on the PGA Tour 2025, finished in 43rd position with a total of 276 strokes (68 66 72 70, -12). Not as lucky was Francesco Molinari, who did not è make the cut, stopping at 209 strokes (67 70 72, -7).
