Milan, double tegola for Emerson Royal: out for long, transfer at risk
Bad news for AC Milan and Emerson Royal: the Brazilian full-back suffered a muscle injury during the Champions League match against Girona and will have to stay out for a long time. Instrumental examinations carried out on Thursday showed a high-grade distractive injury of the right calf.
The injury will force Royal to stay out for at least two months–a problem for Conceiçao, especially for the last game of the Champions League championship phase. Against Dinamo Zagreb, there will be no Calabria because he is disqualified, and neither Jimenez nor Walker will be available because they are off the list.
It's also a bad blow to AC Milan's market strategies: the Brazilian's agent was in Milan on Wednesday regarding the player's possible sale to Galatasaray. Royal had not closed at all to a transfer, but after the injury everything is complicated.
And in the fans’ crosshairs also ends up Sergio Conceiçao, who despite market negotiations still fielded the player in the cup.
