Statements against referee La Penna: fines to Milan and Paulo Fonseca
Milan and former Rossoneri coach Paulo Fonseca have been fined for the "damaging" judgments made against referee La Penna at the end of the match against Atalanta. The Portuguese coach had said: "I have always been silent while everyone is talking, but on the first goal there are no episodes, what è happened è unbelievable. That of the referee è is a difficult job and I know that, but I am tired of seeing the same things over and over again. There ’è no respect towards Milan. I was afraid of it. Following the’plea agreement reached by the parties (ex art. 126 CGS), former Milan coach Paulo Fonseca è was sanctioned with a’fine of 10,000 euros. By way of objective responsibility, the Rossoneri club è was also sanctioned with a’fine of 5,000 euros", è wrote in the FIGC official note.
"Proceedings had been opened against Fonseca for violation of Articles 4, paragraph 1, of the Sports Justice Code and 37, paragraphs 1 and 2, of the Technical Sector Regulations, both independently and in relation to’art. 23 of the Code of Sporting Justice “for having the same, at the end of the match Atalanta-Milan played last December 6 and valid for the 15thª day of the Serie A championship – during the usual post-match interviews granted to the press organs – expressed judgments detrimental to the prestige and reputation own, both of’the referee of’the match, Federico La Penna, and, for the effect and more’in general, of’the refereeing institution as a whole understood".
