Abakar Sylla è the new name for Lazio’s defense, a profile that seems to meet the needs of Marco Baroni’s team. The Strasbourg left-handed center back, born in 2002, from the Ivory Coast, è is a concrete track on which the biancoceleste club is actively working. With 15 appearances and one goal to his credit between Ligue 1 and the French Cup this season, Sylla has proven to be a reliable defender with  characteristics that could prove invaluable to Lazio’s backroom.

The cost of his price tag is around 12 million euros, an amount that Lazio does not seem willing to invest immediately for an outright purchase. For this reason, the management is trying to close the deal with the Alsatians on the basis of a loan of redemption, a formula that would allow the player to be evaluated before a possible outright investment.

However, time is running out. The closing of the market è set for February 3 and sporting director Fabiani is working to finalize the deal as soon as possible. Despite the concrete interest in Sylla, Lazio does not rule out evaluating other options to reinforce the defensive department, should the transaction with Strasbourg present obstacles.
