Ciccio Caputo officially closes his football career

With a long message entrusted to his Instagram profile, Francesco "Ciccio" Caputo officially announced the end of his competitive career. The now former striker, born in 1987, had left Empoli at the dawn of the 2024-2025 season and, after a period without a team, had recently returned to the field to participate in the Kings World Cup of Nations, wearing the Italy jersey.

"Honestly, I would have liked to make this speech in a different way, perhaps greeting you with a goal and my jubilation that united us so much,” Capito wrote, addressing his followers, “but life sometimes leads us to make choices that mature within us slowly. Today I am here, aware of the path I want to take in my future".

"This, però does not mean that 'Fatty' will disappearà. On the contrary, è just the’beginning of a new version of me: a more mature, more conscious Fatty, ready to live new adventures, with the baggage of all the experiences, sacrifices, joys and lessons that this career has given me. I have to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Thanks to those who supported me and also to those who criticized me: becauseé è it is precisely from criticism that I found the strength to improve myself, to go beyond my limits".

"I thank the Società, Presidents, Directors, Managers, Coaches, Staff and my teammates. To all of you who work behind the scenes and made every step of my journey special: To all the fans of the teams where I played: thank you for welcoming, supporting and spurring me on. A special thank you to my attorney, my lawyer and Faithful Management for always being by my side, and for continuing to believe in me even today as I prepare to write this new chapter".

"And then, the most important thanks: to my family. To my wife, to my three children, who are my refuge, my strength, my greatest motivation. Thank you for always being there, in good times and in the most difficult ones, for supporting me and never leaving me alone in this long journey".

"Today I close an important chapter of my life, but I open a new one with the same determination and willingness to put myself out there. I know I can count on you, on your affection and support, which have been and will always be my biggest push. This is not è a farewell, è a new beginning. See you soon, more ù ready and more ù strong than ever" concluded the'former of Toritto, Altamura, Noicattaro, Bari, Salernitana, Siena, Virtus Entella, Empoli, Sassuolo and Sampdoria.
