The Australian Open winner has other plans

After giving it some thought, Jannik Sinner has decided to decline President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella's invitation, according to LaPresse reports. On Wednesday, the world tennis number 1 and fresh winner of the Australian Open (third career Slam) will not be at the Quirinale.

The tennis star will not attend the ceremony convened to celebrate the achievements of Italian tennis in 2024. Jannik Sinner, after winning in Melbourne, had let it be known that he wanted to take some time off, so as to recover physical and mental strength in view of the continuation of the season.

After making it official that he will withdraw from the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, Jannik Sinner made it known that he will return to play on Feb. 17, in Doha. Until then, the goal è to be with family and friends, so he can indulge in some relaxation and, thereafter, think exclusively about training as best he can to continue winning and dominating on the court.

A very clear plan that, in fact, led Jannik Sinner to decide not to attend the party at the Quirinale with President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. Priorities, right now, are other for the world number 1, as well as the most successful Italian tennis player ever (19 ATP titles won to date).
