Medvedev’s words

New coaching change in the tennis world. After Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner, also Daniil Medvedev announced his farewell to Gilles Simon. " It was a very good experience for me, with many positives. From this moment on, Gilles Cervara and I will move on: with Gilles it did not è go as we would have liked, especially in terms of results. No titles came, I did not win Slams, però I learned many new things about tennis, which I am sure will help me in the future. However, the relationship between us remains good, even though we no longer workù together“.

"The important thing for me will be to be able to put my best tennis on the court: if I can do that, I know I can win this tournament, no matter if it will be the second or the first time. Then of course, I would love to break this tradition! Have my tennis goals changed given the changes in the family? No, not really, the goals are still the same, in fact now I will play six tournaments in a row. In some ways I still have more hunger than before, let’s see if it will help me or not because sometimes it can be counterproductive”.

On Rotterdam: "I love this tournament, as well as I love the cityà. We tennis players don’t have much time to visit the citiesà however, I must say that I like everything about Rotterdam, from the hotels to the restaurants. The food è great! You always know that when you come back here no surprises await you. The tournament è wonderful for us players, for being indoor there are also so many courts available for training. I don’t think there is a better indoor tournament than this one during the year-I’m happy to be back, now let’s see if I can win some matches. We players need a lot of confidence, which is built through wins: I know very well that if I play well, I can win a lot of matches and a lot of tournaments consecutively, I have already proved it many times in the past. It wasn’t easy after the Australian Open, but for this tournament I prepared well”.
