ATP 500 Dallas, Matteo Arnaldi to quarters without headaches

A victory without any major jolts, after just over an hour of play.
Matteo Arnaldi advances in the ATP 500 tournament in Dallas, hitting the quarterfinals thanks to a clean 6-1, 6-3 win over Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, number 59 on the ATP circuit. Few headaches for the Italian, who closed the accounts in just over an hour and in this way earned the challenge with another Spaniard: è Jaume Munar, capable of eliminating surprise Ben Shelton.
For Arnaldi, the match went well right from the start, with a break coming as early as the second game after Davidovich Fokina had nullified no less than four break points. The Ligurian tennis player also conceded an encore in the fourth game, this time with even fewer headaches, and conceded to his opponent the only point of 5-1 before closing the score in the next game.
The second set turns out to be seemingly less one-sided, but Arnaldi è even quicker to close the score, conceding very little to the Spaniard on serve and attacking him when è instead his turn at bat. So è in the fifth game Davidovich Fokina has to cancel two more break points, but nothing can; on the seventh. The third break of the set then fixes the result at 6-3.
Thus continues the excellent momentum of Arnaldi, who in Dallas had also dominated in the previous round against Christopher Eubanks, beating him with the score of 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 20 minutes of play. And now the path continues with an unexpected challenge: not with Shelton, but with Munar.
