The Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Finals are getting closer. Saturday, Feb. 8 and Sunday, Feb. 9 at the’Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno will be staged the event of the Women’s Volleyball League Serie A, which will be attended by Numia Vero Volley Milano, Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano, Savino Del Bene Scandicci and Igor Gorgonzola Novara.
On the evening of Saturday, February 8 at 18:00, Lavarini’s girls, in their sixth participation in the Italian Cup final four, will face Scandicci. The first semifinal (3:30 p.m.) will see Conegliano, winner of the last five editions, and Novara take the court.
A weekend that represents the last steps of a journey that began on October 6, 2024 with the first match of Serie A1 Tigotà won away against Pinerolo. From that moment è started the ride of Milan, which over the course of the round of play won 10 victories, earning 28 points and third place in the standings. The’access to the semifinals è was then confirmed with the victory conquered against Chieri in the Quarterfinals of the competition played on December 29.
Many Rosablù players have already lifted the national trophy: Anna Danesi won in 2016/17 with Conegliano’s jersey, while Myriam Sylla won the trophy four times, one of them together with coach Stefano Lavarini in 2015 with Bergamo. Woman of records in the competitionè Paola Egonu: in her career she has won the Coppa Italia five times and has been named MVP three times; the Italian opposite also holds the record for total aces scored in the Coppa Italia (46) and the most points scored in a single match (42).
Milan will return to play at the’Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno, which hosted 7,800 spectators in the 2023 final, setting the all-time record for the event.
