An incoming reinforcement from the release list.

Calciomercato Empoli: one more pawn for the midfield available to Roberto D'Aversa. The Tuscan club è in fact ready to sign Viktor Kovalenko, who has been stationary since the beginning of the season after being released in the summer by Atalanta due to contract expiration.

For him, moreover, it would be a return, as Kovalenko already wore the Empoli jersey last season, with 17 appearances and two goals to his credit. The Ukrainian, whom Atalanta bought in 2021 from Shakhtar Donetsk, never managed to carve out a real space for himself in the Nerazzurri, where he has played only once in Serie A since then.

Thus, in the following years there was a succession of loans for him. Two years Kovalenko spent at Spezia, where he put up 44 league appearances and one goal to his credit. Then the loan to Empoli a year ago and the return to base at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, according to 'Sky Sport', Empoli's own side is ready to give him another chance, also considering the many problems of Roberto D'Aversa&#39s team in midfield, where Fazzini, Anjorin, Haas and Solbakken are unavailable for various reasons.
