Genoa, double shingle in midfield
Bad news in Genoa’s midfield: double tegola for the Ligurian club, which has to deal with injuries to Milan Badelj and Morten Thorsby. Both players had ended the match with Torino prematurely: the Croatian midfielder had left the field after an hour of play, while the Norwegian one in the dying minutes, leaving the Grifone in 10.
On Monday, Badelj and Thorsby underwent instrumental examinations to verify the extent of their respective injuries: the former suffered a minor injury to the adductor of the left thigh, while the latter suffered a calf injury.
As far as recovery time is concerned, Badelj is expected to be in the pits for about three weeks: the Rossoblù captain; will definitely miss the challenges with Venezia and Inter, but could be back available to coach Patrick Vieira for the match with Empoli, scheduled for early March.
Longer stop, however, for Thorsby, who is expected to be out for at least a month: the Norwegian could return after the March break when Genoa will challenge Juventus at Allianz Stadium on the weekend of March 29-30.
