Johnny Herbert is lapidary about Jack Doohan

Johnny Herbert è lapidary on Jack Doohan
During an interview given to the microphones of "Crash.net", former British racer Johnny Herbert, among other topics discussed, dwelt on the considerable pressures Jack Doohan may face because of Alpine's hiring of Franco Colapinto as a reserve driver.
"I have the impression that Jack Doohan already has his days numbered at Alpine. When I talk to people in the paddock, I see that they feel exactly the same way. Doohan has to give his best in the battle with Gasly and if he doesn't, he'll be out. I know Briatore very well. Should Jack prove himself not to be a height he will be put out the door in the blink of an eye. He's very stressed right now" began the former British driver.
"This is part of sport, unfortunately, and è something that happens especially in F1. Everything that è has been said will put a lot of pressure on Doohan. He will have to get in the car and give his best from the first minute" added the Brentwood native.
"Gasly è a driver who feels very comfortable in the team at the moment. He has a lot of support being French. Jack will have to settle in quickly and deal with the pressure of having a Colapinto on the launch pad who will be there, next to Briatore, keeping an eye on everything, in the back of the garage. That's where all those little elements that create doubt come into play, and in this sport you can't afford to be doubtful of your abilities," Johhny Herbert quipped.
