Swiss hat trick in men’s combined, Italy wastes it all

The men’s combined at the World Ski Championships in Saalbach ended with a Swiss hat trick. Winning the gold medal was the pair consisting of Franjo Von Allmen (second in the downhill) and Loic Meillard, who, thanks to an excellent performance in the slalom, overtook compatriots Monney and Nef. Bronze medal for the third Swiss duo consisting of Rogentin and Rochat.

Important leap forward for team USA 1, which grabbed fourth place ahead of Austria 2, with Gstrein unable to close the gap to grab a medal. Closing firmly in the top 10 were the two blue pairs formed by Schieder and Kastlunger and Casse and Gross.

Eighth place for Germany (Jocher/Strasser). Closing the top 10 are Norway 2 (Sejersted/Haugan) and France 4 (Bailet/Muffat-Jeandet).

Bitter slalom, on the other hand, for Alex Vinatzer, who straddles on the most beautiful ruining the excellent descent made by Dominik Paris thus making his chances of winning a medal fade.
