Europa League playoff round, Roma remounted by Porto, then in ten holds the tie

At the’Estadio Dragao, Roma drew 1-1 against hosts Porto in the first leg of the Europa League playoffs.

The Giallorossi in the first half had numerous chances but lost Dybala in the 40’ to a knee injury, in his place Baldanzi. In the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time, Ranieri’s team took the lead: a counterattack right by Baldanzi, Dovbyk’s bank for Celik to pierce Diogo Costa.

In the second half, on 67’ the hosts’ equalizer: Cristante gets a shot deflected into the corner by Diogo Costa but soon after the goalkeeper deflects finding Pepe just entered, who is closed down by the Giallorossi defense but the ball to Moura who with his left beats Svilar.

At 72’ Roma in ten: Cristante is sent off for a double caution. Fortunately Porto’s final siege is unsuccessful, ending 1-1 with high hopes for the return to the Olimpico for the Giallorossi.
