Clostebol-Jannik Sinner: Carlos Alcaraz’s reaction causes discussion
Jannik Sinner’s disqualification over the Clostebol case is causing debate and dividing the tennis world. The Blue's number one rival, Carlos Alcaraz, è was also questioned on the issue at a press conference on the eve of the tournament start in Doha. Surprisingly, the Spaniard did not express a clear opinion on the matter, remaining very cool about the situation of what è his arch-rival.
"I have little to say. Whether there is or not, it doesn’t change anything for us. We remain focused on us and our goals", are the decidedly detached words of the Iberian.
No condemnation, but no support from the Spaniard for the Blue either. On the contrary, the San Candido tennis player's enforced absence è seen by Alcaraz as a "opportunity'": "Number one è always a goal to which I aspire. Of course, Jannik’s absence may’open up opportunities, but I am focused on my own path".
Alcaraz, currently No. 3 in the ATP rankings, set his next goals: "I want to win at least one Slam among the three remaining, and to fight in the Masters1000. Every tournament è important, I will tryò to win as many titles as possible. If I canò repeat myself at Wimbledon, Roland Garros or the US Open, Iò will be happy".
