Tightened final with Steph Castle

No one like him. Mac McClung won, for the third year in a row, the dunk contest at the NBA All Star Game, this year being held at Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors. In the history of the Slam Contest, no one had managed to win the title of dunk king three editions in a row.

The guard of the G League’s Osceola Magic had to struggle immensely to get the better of San Antonio Spurs rookie Steph Castle in a tight and exciting final. The difference, in the final tally of scores, were the 49 of the home crowd and of former NBA star Tracy McGrady.

"I am truly honored to have been able to participate in this weekend. I am really in love with this contest and feel very grateful", the words of Mac McClung himself at the end of the dunk contest reported by ESPN. It should be highlighted that Mac McClung only ever received top marks in all the dunks he made.

The 3-point contest, another highly anticipated event of Saturday's NBA All Star Game, saw Tyler Herro triumph, the fifth player in Miami Heat history to win the prestigious title. Tyler Herro beat, in the final, Buddy Hield: "I am very happy that my name is now in the history of this contest", the words of the Miami shooter.
